New general practice medical centre comes to Central Brunswick

Fortitude Valley will soon be benefitting from improved medical and healthcare opportunities thanks to the opening of Doctor’s on Brunswick on 16 October. Conveniently located in Central Brunswick, the new practice will offer general practice as well as specialising in women’s health, family health, skin cancer, and vaccinations as well as physiotherapy, psychology and dietitian services.

Work Starts on $11m Wesley Specialist Centre

$11m project to boost options for specialist patient care in Wesley Hospital Precinct

Work has officially commenced on a brand new medical complex located in the Wesley Hospital Precinct, Auchenflower, to cater for the hospital’s continued growth.

Opening in August 2018 and located at 87 Lang Parade, the $11 million Wesley Specialist Centre will boost the local economy creating 40 jobs over the project’s construction and operational phases. The development is being managed commercially by Retailspace Property on behalf of the developer with construction being undertaken by Hutchinson Builders.

Retailspace Property’s Andrew Deane said the project will offer medical professionals access to world class consulting facilities in close proximity to the operating suites at Wesley Hospital. “Wesley Specialist Centre will provide much needed consulting suites for the medical professionals who would like to be based at the Wesley Hospital. Located a short walk from the main hospital, the centre will offer mixed sizes of tenancies and will be finished to the highest standards.”

“The 535 bed Wesley Hospital currently caters for over 2,000 staff specialising in areas including cardiology, urology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, maternity and women’s health and Wesley Specialist Centre will provide additional suites they need to carry out their professional practices.”

“The real bonus for doctors is that they can be based at Wesley Specialist Centre and be only a short walk from operating theatres and their patients in the wards.”

Interest in the project is expected to be high, with foundation tenant, Wesley Medical Imaging taking advantage of the opportunity to be involved from the start. “The opportunity for us to be part of Wesley Specialty Centre was too good to turn down. With easy access to the hospital, train station and parking, the centre will be ideal for our patients who need to visit the Wesley Hospital for specialist care.”
